Job summary

Auger in Swindon is seeking a Water Mains Engineer to join the team and cover Swindon. You will be responsible for investigating and repairing external water supplies, communicating with customers, and coordinating with our Field Operations Team.

The role offers a structured career path with training and progression opportunities. Qualified candidates will have DBS clearance and a valid driving licence; carpentry and on-site duties are included, with 42.5 hours per week and no on-call

Qualifications

• Experience in leak detection and water mains repairs using listening sticks, ground mic, etc.
• Ability to lay 20mm–32mm service pipes.
• Experience creating new points of entry for water supplies.
• Ability to reinstate surfaces (paving slabs, block paving, tarmac, concrete).

Responsibilities

• Independently investigate and repair external water supplies.
• Logically establish ownership and liability based on leak location.
• Confidently explain repairs to customers and provide peace of mind.
• Communicate proactively with the Field Operations Team at HQ.
• Work effectively with other engineers as part of the team.
