Job summary

IES Utilities Group LTD is seeking a Water Leakage Technician to support leakage detection and network performance across Colchester and surrounding areas. The role involves identifying and locating leaks, reducing water loss, and working with field teams to ensure safe, accurate investigations.

The candidate will use acoustic listening, correlation, pipe tracing and other techniques, and will need a full UK driving licence and the ability to work across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in leakage detection or water network operations.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Comfortable driving a company van.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements on operational utility networks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out proactive and reactive leakage detection across clean water networks.
• Identify and locate underground leaks on trunk mains and distribution networks.
• Investigate customer reports and network anomalies to identify leakage issues.
• Assess leakage severity and prioritise repairs for network optimisation.
• Plan daily workloads to meet client performance targets and record findings in reporting systems.
• Promote safety and ensure works comply with procedures and client requirements.
