Job summary

Thames Water is looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead large water infrastructure delivery in the Thames Valley region. The role combines design, build, commissioning and handover across a £100k–£5m project portfolio.

Based on a hybrid pattern (2–3 days on site), you’ll work with multidisciplinary teams, drive safety, quality and efficiency, and mentor colleagues while delivering value for millions of customers.

Qualifications

• HND/HNC in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience delivering water treatment or transferable projects.
• Strong knowledge of project delivery from concept to handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of water treatment and process projects from conception through to handover.
• Manage the planning, design, construction and commissioning phases of projects.
• Develop business cases and project documentation through governance processes to secure project funding.
• Manage project risks and identify opportunities to improve value and efficiency.
• Provide project assurance during delivery, commissioning and asset handover.
• Work with internal teams, framework contractors, consultants and suppliers to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Support the CDM Designer or Principal Designer role where projects utilise in-house engineering design.
• Lead and influence multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Coaching and mentoring colleagues to support continuous improvement and professional development.
