Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley are seeking an experienced Planner to shape the delivery of water, energy and environment projects across the North West. You will develop and manage detailed programmes, monitor progress, and identify risks to keep projects on track.

Responsibilities include coordinating with design, commercial and site teams, producing reports and dashboards, and ensuring alignment with contracts and milestones. Travel to sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale water infrastructure projects is essential.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and methodologies.
• Proven ability to develop detailed construction programmes and schedules.
• Familiarity with NEC, JCT or other contract forms.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed construction programmes using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Monitor progress against baseline schedules and update regularly.
• Identify risks, delays, and opportunities, proposing mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with operational, design and commercial staff and subcontractors to align programmes with site and design progress.
• Produce progress reports, dashboards, and forecasts for senior management and clients.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project milestones.
• Support tender planning and bid submissions with realistic programme schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of programme changes and justifications.
• Involvement with collaborative planning.
