Job summary

Pennon Group's Aquacare division is seeking a Water Hygiene Technician to join our expanding team covering Bournemouth, Hampshire, and the Southwest. The role focuses on Legionella control, water hygiene tasks across customer sites, ensuring compliance and safety while building strong customer relationships.

We offer a permanent position with a competitive salary of £27,000–£31,000 per annum plus excellent benefits, ongoing training, and career progression opportunities within the South West's

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Water Hygiene Technician or similar role
  • Water Hygiene Technician Level 2-3 (or working towards)
  • City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent recognised certification) in relevant plumbing, or water hygiene disciplines.
  • Good knowledge of water hygiene and Legionella control requirements
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
  • GCSEs (Grade A-C / 4-9) or equivalent
  • A full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

  • Undertake routine water hygiene monitoring, including temperature checks, flushing programmes, and water sampling
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation across customer sites
  • Perform cleaning and disinfection of hot and cold water systems and cooling systems
  • Carry out TMV servicing, maintenance, and showerhead servicing
  • Investigate and troubleshoot water hygiene issues on customer sites, implementing corrective actions wherever possible to achieve a first-time fix
  • Work closely with the scheduling team to ensure jobs are effectively planned, completed, and recorded using mobile technology
  • Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues, ensuring all contractual requirements are delivered to a high standard
  • Escalate missed tasks, compliance concerns, and site issues promptly and professionally

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Water Hygiene Technician to join our team covering Bournemouth, Hampshire, and the Southwest region.

About the Role

As a Water Hygiene Technician, you will carry out a wide range of Legionella control and water hygiene tasks across customer sites, ensuring systems remain compliant, safe, and operating effectively.

Working across a variety of commercial premises, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of service and building strong relationships with our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake routine water hygiene monitoring, including temperature checks, flushing programmes, and water sampling

  • Investigate and troubleshoot water hygiene issues on customer sites, implementing corrective actions wherever possible to achieve a first-time fix
  • Work closely with the scheduling team to ensure jobs are effectively planned, completed, and recorded using mobile technology
  • Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues, ensuring all contractual requirements are delivered to a high standard

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a Water Hygiene Technician or similar role
