Job summary

PTSG Water Treatment in the Birmingham area is recruiting a mobile field-based technician. You will travel to customer sites to ensure water systems are safe and compliant, inspect and clean vessels, install Thermostatic Mixing Valves, and monitor tasks in line with HSG 274 Part 2.

You'll use the SimPRO system to manage workload, apply Legionella Awareness Training, hold a full UK driving licence, and complete DBS and BPSS checks.

Qualifications

• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• City & Guilds Legionella Awareness Training or equivalent.
• Experience in water treatment/field service beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to ensure water systems are safe and compliant.
• Inspect and clean water storage vessels; lead tank chlorinations.
• Install and service Thermostatic Mixing Valves; monitor tasks per HSG 274 Part 2.
• Use SimPRO to manage workload and maintain records.
• Complete DBS and BPSS checks as required.

What you’ll be doing:

As a key part of our team, you’ll travel to customer sites, ensuring water systems are safe and compliant across the region. Your day will involve essential tasks like inspecting and cleaning water storage vessels (including leading on tank chlorinations), installing and servicing Thermostatic Mixing Valves, and conducting routine monitoring tasks in line with HSG 274 Part 2. This means you’ll be flushing water outlets, monitoring temperatures, descaling showerheads, flushing pressure vessels, and performing crucial sampling for closed water systems.

You’ll also expertly use our SimPRO system to manage your workload. Your ability to spot problems and proactively find solutions, combined with your detailed knowledge of HSE's ACoP L8 and HSG274, will be vital in maintaining our professional and compliant reputation.

You’ll need a full, clean UK driving licence and have City & Guilds Legionella Awareness Training, equivalent or suitable industry experience to succeed in this role.
