Job summary

PTSG Water Treatment is seeking a field-based Water Treatment Technician to travel to customer sites across the York area, ensuring water systems are safe and compliant. You will operate a company vehicle, perform routine servicing, monitoring, and sampling, and use the SimPRO system to manage tasks.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, Legionella awareness training, and compliance with DBS and CTC clearances.

Qualifications

• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• City & Guilds Legionella Awareness Training or equivalent.
• DBS check and CTC clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to inspect and clean water storage vessels, including tank chlorinations.
• Install and service thermostatic mixing valves and perform routine monitoring per HSG 274 Part 2.
• Flush water outlets, monitor temperatures, descale showerheads and flush pressure vessels.
• Take samples for closed water systems and use SimPRO to manage workload.
• Identify problems and proactively implement solutions to maintain safety and compliance.

Contract: Permanent and Full-Time, 40 hpw Monday to Friday (no evenings, no weekends, no on-call)

OTE £35-37k (including basic salary + 2k sign on bonus + 10% monthly bonus + overtime)

What you'll be doing:

As a key part of our team, you'll travel to customer sites, ensuring water systems are safe and compliant across the region. Your day will involve essential tasks like inspecting and cleaning water storage vessels (including leading on tank chlorinations), installing and servicing Thermostatic Mixing Valves, and conducting routine monitoring tasks in line with HSG 274 Part 2. This means you'll be flushing water outlets, monitoring temperatures, descaling showerheads, flushing pressure vessels, and performing crucial sampling for closed water systems.

You'll also expertly use our SimPRO system to manage your workload. Your ability to spot problems and proactively find solutions, combined with your detailed knowledge of HSE’s ACoP L8 and HSG274, will be vital in maintaining our professional and compliant reputation.

You’ll need a full, clean UK driving licence and have City & Guilds Legionella Awareness Training, equivalent or suitable industry experience to succeed in this role.
