A leading healthcare organization in Uxbridge is seeking a Water Hygiene Operative to provide planned maintenance on water systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing water systems and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Responsibilities include temperature monitoring, routine inspections, and performing remedial work. Applicants should possess a City & Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate or equivalent, alongside relevant experience in the field.

As part of the role you will be providing planned preventative maintenance on hot, cold and closed water systems to HTM, HSG274 ACOP L8 standards for effective water safety control.
Ideally you will have experience of thermostatic mixer valves and taps, be able to carry out water tank inspections and domestic services, water temperature monitoring, water sampling, system flushing, shower head descales /changing, calorifier inspection and assist in de‑scaling and disinfection of calorifiers and cleaning of water storage tanks.
In addition to the above, there will also be planned maintenance activities such as planned upgrade works, refurbishment as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure a safe environment for service users.

The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.

1. Provide Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on hot, cold and closed water systems to HTM 04 01, HSG 274, ACoP L8, CIBSE TM13 and other applicable standards as required for effective water safety control at Hillingdon site.
2. Maintain the Trust's water systems, and water testing regimes.
3. Be a Competent Person to carry out duties for water safety.
4. Monitoring water systems and ensuring compliance with current HTM 04 01, HSG 274, ACoP L8 and Health and Safety legislation.
5. Carrying out Disinfection & chlorination on both hot and cold‑water systems and water system disinfection work using Chemical Injection dosing unit.
6. Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
7. Carrying out remedial plumbing work as and when required.
8. Undertaking maintenance and installation of different water systems.
9. Fault finding, repair and maintenance of the water systems across sites and report any non‑compliance with water regulations.
10. Conduct monthly monitoring & inspections which will involve temperature testing of water outlets, TMVs and TMTs.
11. Clean and disinfect TMVs and TMTs and submit the report on monthly basis according to Planned Preventive Maintenance.
12. Inspection of cold water storage tanks and hot water storage vessels.
13. Inspect and flush pressure vessels according to Planned Preventive Maintenance.
14. Carry out all the remedial works which includes from water sampling, Legionella risk assessment.
15. Undertake and assist in delivery of maintenance tasks.
16. Submitting accurate completion and population of all job sheets with relevant information.
17. Ensure acceptable standards of productivity and workmanship are maintained in the execution of work and any change in assets to be notified through the appropriate channels.
18. Be conversant with Risk Assessments and Method Statements as well as COSHH.
19. To carry and respond to electronic communication systems, PDAs and a hand‑held Radio.
