Water Efficiency Coordinator
We offer hybrid working between office and home. The primary office location for this role is Durrington.
Permanent
37 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Up to circa £30,000 per annum
We are pleased to be recruiting for a Water Efficiency Coordinator to join Southern Water and support the delivery of our Water Efficiency Programme, including our new in-house Water Efficiency Audit service.
This is a varied role at the heart of the programme, providing comprehensive administrative, coordination and operational support across a range of water efficiency activities. You will help keep customer audits, engagement campaigns, events and wider demand reduction initiatives organised, on track and delivering a positive experience for customers and colleagues.
Working closely with Water Efficiency Field Engineers, Customer Engagement Officers, the Water Efficiency Field Performance Manager and the wider team, you will coordinate appointments and field activity, maintain accurate programme and customer records, monitor work queues and support performance reporting. You will also assist with customer communications, meeting administration, purchase orders, invoices, budget tracking and the coordination of materials where required.
The role supports the whole Water Efficiency Programme, giving you exposure to a broad mix of projects and stakeholders. You will play an important part in establishing efficient ways of working for a growing team, identifying opportunities to improve processes and helping the programme achieve its customer, operational and regulatory objectives.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised coordinator who enjoys variety and takes pride in keeping people, information and activities running smoothly. You may come from an administration, coordination, customer service or business support background, and you will be confident managing several priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
You will have excellent communication and customer service skills, with the confidence to act as a first point of contact for customer enquiries, liaise with colleagues across the business and follow actions through to completion. You will be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively and will bring a positive, proactive approach to supporting a new and developing service.
Strong Microsoft Office skills are essential, particularly across Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint, alongside experience of maintaining accurate records and managing data. Experience using CRM, scheduling, workforce management or database systems would be advantageous, as would experience producing reports or supporting field-based and customer-facing teams.
Previous experience in the water industry, utilities, environmental services or sustainability programmes would be useful, but it is not essential. We are most interested in your organisational ability, customer focus, willingness to learn and enthusiasm for contributing ideas that improve service delivery.
Southern Water is at the forefront of transforming Britain's water industry, investing significantly to enhance resilience, sustainability and service excellence. With £7.8bn planned investment for 2025-30, this is an opportunity to join a business committed to delivering a generational shift in the way water services are managed.
You will be joining at an exciting stage as we develop our in-house Water Efficiency Audit service and expand the work we do to help customers reduce their water use. This role offers the chance to support a broad programme, build valuable experience and make a practical contribution to water resource resilience and the environment.
At Southern Water, diversity and inclusion are core values. We actively encourage applications from all backgrounds and are committed to fostering an environment where every individual is empowered to succeed.
If you are an organised, customer-focused all-rounder who would enjoy bringing energy and structure to a growing programme, we would love to hear from you.
