Job summary

Tate Recruitment is seeking a Technical Service Engineer/Consultant for a South Coast-based role in wastewater and environmental systems. The position covers workshop, office, and customer site activities, delivering technical support, demonstrations and training to help customers optimise performance.

The role requires hands-on mechanical/electrical experience, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience working with mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Comfortable travelling to customer sites and working independently when required.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble and test equipment using mechanical and electrical components.
• Support the installation, maintenance and optimisation of wastewater treatment systems.
• Visit customer sites to assess performance, diagnose issues and implement practical solutions.
• Deliver technical demonstrations, training and customer support.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Support product testing, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment, processes and system performance.
• Develop strong customer relationships and support business development activities.
