Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Group seeks a Technical Director – Wastewater Process to provide strategic technical leadership across our water portfolio, guiding major wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects. You will influence design, compliance, and performance while growing client relationships and market presence.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, shape technical strategies, and advance low‑carbon solutions, committing to innovation and industry excellence in the UK and internationally.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering with Chartered Engineer status (IChemE)
• Proven leadership of wastewater process engineering programmes
• Experience in nutrient removal, decarbonisation and environmental compliance

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technical leadership across wastewater treatment, sludge management, biosolids and resource recovery projects.
• Lead technical governance and assurance across multiple projects and portfolios.
• Develop and mentor senior process engineers and build technical capability.
• Engage with clients, regulators and industry forums to shape best practice and thought leadership.
• Identify opportunities for bid strategies and growth in wastewater and bioresources markets
