Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Process Operator to join the United Utilities team in the North West of England. The role involves safe operation and monitoring of wastewater and sludge treatment plants during commissioning, optimisation and handover.

You will work closely with engineers and site delivery teams on start-up and performance testing. Candidates should have hands-on experience with process plant operation, a CSCS card (or equivalent safety accreditation), and the ability to record

Qualifications

• Experience in water, wastewater, sludge treatment or process plant
• Good practical understanding of pumps, screens, tanks, blowers, mixers and chemical dosing
• Ability to carry out process sampling, basic site testing and record operational data
• Familiarity with health, safety and environmental requirements (COSHH, permits to work) and site procedures

Responsibilities

• Operate wastewater and sludge treatment plant safely according to permits and site instructions
• Perform routine plant checks, site rounds and observations of pumps, screens, tanks, blowers, mixers and dosing systems
• Monitor process performance, alarms and trends; escalate concerns to commissioning team
• Carry out sampling and basic analysis; record data for commissioning and compliance
• Maintain accurate daily records and handover documentation
