Job Description:

The Operations Specialist position requires site experience, technical insight, and a clear understanding of permit requirements to address issues proactively.

You will be the first responder to risks that could lead to pollution or permit breaches, supporting Operations teams with practical, cost-effective solutions.

Your role includes supporting Process Specialists with on-site analysis, sampling, coaching, and investigations, providing critical data. This position is ideal for those who understand sewage treatment processes well.

  • Location: Oxfordshire - candidates need access to a vehicle, business insurance, and a full UK driving license.
  • 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday), plus out-of-hours call-out rota.
Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify and prevent pollution risks, optimize processes to reduce costs.
  • Use data and sampling for issue investigation and support capital projects.
  • Participate in pollution investigations and operational events.
  • Attend regulatory meetings, own actions, and deliver site improvements.
  • Act as a technical expert on wastewater technologies and communicate findings.
Qualifications:
  • Operational experience with process science understanding.
  • Experience at sewage treatment works is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of permitting and regulatory obligations.
  • Experience with process improvements and innovative ideas.
  • Excellent time management and IT skills for data analysis.
