Job summary

Adler & Allan Ltd in Sheffield is seeking a capable hydraulic modeller to support predominantly wastewater projects. The role involves planning surveys, managing site visits, building and verifying hydraulic models, and helping scope and implement modelling solutions. You will engage with clients by phone, email or meetings with senior staff.

The position also includes supervising graduates or assistant modellers, preparing risk assessments, and assisting in developing in-house training modules.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent with relevant experience in hydraulics.
• 3 years practical experience in wastewater hydraulic modelling.
• 2–3 years ICM 1D experience (some 2D).

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise various surveys.
• Manage site visits - walkovers, investigations, observing survey contractors.
• Build hydraulic models.
• Verify hydraulic models.
• Introduction to project scoping.
• Introduction to modelling solutions.
• Analyse results using software including Excel and related tools.
• Engage with clients by phone, email or meetings with senior staff.
• Supervise and check the work of graduate/assistant modellers.
• Prepare risk assessments.
• Assist in developing in-house training modules.
