Job summary

Adler and Allan is seeking an experienced hydraulic modeller to lead predominantly wastewater modelling projects in Sheffield. You will plan surveys, supervise site visits, build and verify ICM-based models, and contribute to scoping, client communications, and modeling solutions.

The role offers career progression towards CIWEM Chartership, strong staff retention, and a supportive team culture within an open-plan office setting near central Sheffield.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
• 3 years practical experience in wastewater hydraulic modelling.
• 2–3 years ICM 1D with some 2D experience.
• Member of an appropriate professional body.

Responsibilities

• Planning and supervising various surveys.
• Managing site visits and supervising contractors.
• Building and verifying hydraulic models.
• Introduction to project scoping and modelling solutions.
• Analysing results using software including Excel and other tools.
• Engaging with clients by phone or email and attending meetings.
• Supervising/mentoring graduate/assistant modellers.
• Preparing risk assessments.
• Assisting in developing in-house training modules.

Job description

To support the delivery of predominantly wastewater and integrated hydraulic modelling projects. The role will include:

• Planning and supervising various surveys
• Managing site visits - walkovers, investigations, observing survey contractors
• Building hydraulic models
• Verification of hydraulic models
• Introduction to project scoping
• Introduction to modelling solutions
• Analysing results using a variety of software packages including excel and
• Engaging with clients either on the phone and or via email or via attendance at meetings with more senior members of staff
• Supervising and checking the work of graduate/ assistant modellers.
• Preparation of risk assessments
• Assist in the development of in house training modules

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or other qualification supplemented by appropriate experience
• 3 years practical experience in the wastewater hydraulic modelling field
• 2-3 years ICM 1D experience with some 2D experience
• Member of appropriate professional body.
