Finlay Jude Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Wastewater Design Civil Engineer to join a leading service provider in the Water and Wastewater Infrastructure sectors. You will deliver detailed wastewater and clean water network designs, ensuring compliance with client specs and industry standards.

The role involves feasibility studies, design calculations, site visits, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (CEng/IEng).
• Experience in wastewater or water infrastructure design.
• Strong understanding of civil design principles in utilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver civil engineering designs for wastewater projects per client specs and standards.
• Prepare feasibility studies, technical reports, design calculations, drawings and documentation.
• Undertake site visits, surveys and inspections to validate designs.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure accurate design inputs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integrity.
• Engage with clients, stakeholders and third parties throughout delivery.
• Ensure compliance with CDM, H&S and environmental standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and support the team.

Responsibilities Of The Wastewater Design Civil Engineer

• Deliver civil engineering designs for wastewater projects in line with client specifications and industry standards
• Prepare feasibility studies, technical reports, design calculations, drawings and project documentation
• Undertake site visits, surveys, and inspections to inform and validate design solutions
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure accurate design inputs are gathered
• Work with minimal supervision while also reviewing and checking the work of others
• Support and mentor junior members of the engineering team
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrity and efficiency of design solutions
• Engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and third parties throughout project delivery
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, Health & Safety, and environmental standards
• Identify and implement opportunities for innovation and best practice across wastewater network projects
• Contribute to the successful delivery of projects within agreed timescales and budgets

Required Skills and Experience of the Wastewater Design Civil Engineer:

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (CEng/IEng) or equivalent experience
• Experience in wastewater or water infrastructure design
• Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles within the utilities sector
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Competent with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
