Job summary

ESSENTIAL EMPLOYMENT LTD seeks an experienced supervisor to manage frontline crews in a temporary role based in Leeds. You will coordinate staff and resources, ensure services run safely and on schedule, and liaise with fleet services to keep vehicles compliant and available for operation.

Responsibilities include investigating customer complaints, monitoring performance, promoting health and safety, and conducting incident investigations.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of frontline crews, ensuring services are delivered safely, on schedule and to agreed standards. The role will involve coordinating staff and resources, responding to service and route issues, supporting workforce planning, and working closely with fleet services to ensure vehicles are safe, compliant and available for operation. You will investigate and resolve customer complaints, monitor performance, promote a strong health and safety culture, and undertake accident and incident investigations where required. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, be confident managing challenging conversations, have strong IT and system knowledge, and demonstrate a customer-focused approach with a good understanding of waste and recycling operations.
