Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Waste Services Assistant at Forrest Street Depot, Blantyre, G72 0JP. The role reports to Waste Services and offers a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, 7am–3:30pm, with a salary of £38,249–£39,313 per year.

You will plan and organise the team, inspect areas of concern, and ensure health and safety compliance across services. Applicants should have prior management experience in similar roles; a LGV (Class 2) licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience managing teams and coordinating field operatives.
• Knowledge of health and safety compliance checks and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise the team and operatives work processes to deliver services on budget to standards.
• Perform inspections following official complaints and visit known areas of concern.
• Record and report findings and carry out health and safety compliance checks.
