Job summary

Biogen UK Ltd invites applications for a Waste and Recycling Operative (Plant Operator) at our Dalkeith AD site. This hands-on role covers intake, weighing, offloading and cleaning of incoming food waste, plus sorting and loading on site.

You will support routine checks, maintenance and work within a safety-focused team. The role runs Mon-Fri with weekend rota, 6am–8:30pm, with overtime paid and a salary up to £28,500 depending on experience. Driving licence preferred; training provided.

Qualifications

• Health and safety and regulatory compliance awareness.
• Ability to follow HSE and Environment Agency guidelines.
• Positive attitude towards safety.
• Driving licence preferred; training provided if not held.

Responsibilities

• Assist with intake, weighing, offloading and cleaning of delivery vehicles.
• Sort and load food waste arriving on site.
• Support routine checks and maintenance.
• Work within a rotating shift pattern with overtime paid.
