Job summary

Westray Recruitment Group is seeking reliable Waste Recycling Operatives to join a busy facility in Selby. You will manually sort recyclable materials from a moving conveyor belt, ensuring correct separation for processing.

The role requires attention to detail, safety awareness and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Start date is 9th November 2026, with weekday hours and weekends off on a non-smoking site.

Qualifications

• An awareness of workplace health and safety procedures.
• The physical fitness required to stand for extended periods and carry out repetitive tasks.
• A positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• A flexible and hardworking approach to daily duties.
• Previous experience in recycling, waste management, production or a similar manual role would be beneficial, although a willingness to learn and follow instructions is essential.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspecting waste materials as they move along a conveyor system.
• Identifying and removing recyclable materials, including cardboard, paper, plastics, metals, glass and wood.
• Placing sorted materials into the correct chutes, bins or containers for further processing.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working area around your workstation.
• Following all site health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Reporting equipment faults, blockages or potential safety concerns to supervisors.
• Assisting with general housekeeping and other facility duties as required.

• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm - enjoy your weekends off.
• Start Date: 9th November 2026

The Role
