Job summary

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a long-established industrial manufacturer in North Derbyshire. This role involves working on a breaker belt within a busy recycling and manufacturing environment, sorting and inspecting materials and removing contamination to keep production moving.

Shifts are 4 on 4 off, days and nights, with an hourly rate of £20.37 and full PPE provided. A blood test is required at induction, and regular health monitoring applies.

Qualifications

• Experience in waste, recycling, production or similar environments preferred.
• Willing to undergo induction health checks, including a blood test.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts in hot, dusty environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate the breaker belt within a busy recycling and manufacturing setting.

Working Environment – Please Read

• Physically demanding role within a specialist industrial recycling environment.
• Hot, dusty setting whilst wearing under T-shirt, under trousers, full overalls, safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, hard hat and respirator mask for your 12-hour shifts.
• Successful applicants will be required to complete a blood test as part of the induction, followed by regular occupational health monitoring.
• A full site tour must be attended prior to starting to see the working environment first-hand.
• Two x 1-hour breaks per shift – workers are required to shower and change PPE during each break. All PPE and laundry facilities are provided on site.

The Role

• Working on the breaker belt within a busy recycling and manufacturing environment.
• Sorting, inspecting and monitoring recycled materials as they move through the production process.
• Removing contamination and ensuring materials are processed correctly.
• Maintaining high housekeeping standards and keeping the work area clean and safe.
• Working safely around conveyors, heavy machinery and mobile plant.
• Following strict health and safety procedures at all times.
• Supporting the wider production team to ensure production targets are achieved.

Previous experience within waste, recycling, production, manufacturing, labouring or other physically demanding industrial environments would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.

Shift Pattern & Pay

• Continental 4 on / 4 off rotation.
• 2 x Days: 06:00 – 18:00.
• 2 x Nights: 18:00 – 06:00.
• 4 days off.
• Pattern repeated for seven rotations, followed by an 18-day rostered break.
• £20.37 per hour (£16.00 basic + £4.37 shift premium).
