Job summary

Total Waste Recruitment is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor / Yard Manager for a busy recycling and waste management site in Halton, Lancaster area. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure safety and productivity, and lead yard operatives to meet daily targets.

The role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in heavy industrial settings; IOSH/NEBOSH certification is preferred. Hours are 7am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising teams in heavy industrial settings.
• IOSH/NEBOSH certification or equivalent preferred.
• Strong leadership with focus on safety, compliance and productivity.
• Proactive approach to planning, stock control and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

• Supervising the intake, processing, storage, and dispatch of waste and recyclable materials.
• Leading and motivating yard and production operatives to meet daily targets.
• Coordinating plant, machinery, and equipment to ensure safe operations.
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance.
• Monitoring performance and identifying productivity improvements.
• Assisting with operational planning and resource allocation.
• Supporting the Site Manager with daily site operations.
