Job summary

Lancashire County Council is seeking a part-time HWRC Site Operative at Longridge HWRC. The role is 24 hours per week, permanent, with duties at the site including assisting customers, separating recyclables, and operating basic plant.

You will work Wednesday to Friday, perform safety and customer-service duties, and gain basic certificates. The role is outdoors and requires a friendly, customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate basic mobile or mechanical plant.
• Commitment to health and safety and high levels of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily instructions to meet service standards.
• Greet customers and advise on facility use and waste disposal.
• Assist customers with depositing waste.
• Maximise recycling/re-use by sorting materials.
• Provide information about recycling and the facility processes.
• Help maintain site cleanliness and comply with health and safety standards.
• Operate basic mechanical/plant equipment as required.
• Support re-use shops and activities.
