Job summary

NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking a Waste Management Porter for Crosshouse Hospital to safely uplift and remove waste streams daily, including clinical, domestic, cardboard and recycling. The role also covers collection of dirty linen and requires a full UK driving license.

The post is permanent and part-time (15 hours per week, Thursday and Friday 07:00–15:00). A proactive, practical individual with good numeracy and communication skills is encouraged to apply.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Porter/Driver within our Waste Management Department based at Crosshouse Hospital

Hours

15 hours, Thursday and Friday 0700 - 1500

This post is offered on a permanent basis

As department open 7.00 21.00 Monday Sunday there is a scope to work additional hours to cover leave.

UK Driving Licence

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What You Will Do

The role of the Waste Management Porter is the safe uplift and removal of all waste streams (clinical, domestic, cardboard, recycling, sharps boxes, etc) collection of dirty linen throughout the Hospital on a daily basis, to comply with the National Waste Strategy for Scotland and the Audit Scotland Waste Management Report 2005- 2006 and Special Waste Amendments Scottish Regulations 2004 (SS1 2004 No112)
