NHS Scotland is seeking a Waste Management Porter based at Crosshouse Hospital. The role involves safely uplifting and removing all waste streams, including clinical, domestic, cardboard, recycling and sharps, on a daily basis.

Hours are 15 per week (Thursday and Friday 07:00–15:00) and the post is permanent; a UK driving licence is essential. You will join a team committed to safe, respectful care and to meeting Scotland's waste management standards.

Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Porter/Driver within our Waste Management Department based at Crosshouse Hospital.

Hours

15 hours, Thursday and Friday 0700 - 1500.

This post is offered on a permanent basis.

As department open 7.00 - 21.00 Monday - Sunday there is a scope to work additional hours to cover leave.

UK Driving Licence

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What You Will Do

The role of the Waste Management Porter is the safe uplift and removal of all waste streams (clinical, domestic, cardboard, recycling, sharps boxes, etc) collection of dirty linen throughout the Hospital on a daily basis, to comply with the National Waste Strategy for Scotland and the Audit Scotland – Waste Management Report 2005- 2006 and Special Waste Amendments Scottish Regulations 2004 (SS1 2004 No112).
