Qualifications

  • Previous experience within waste management, facilities, cleaning or operational environments.
  • Good understanding of waste segregation and recycling.
  • Ability to undertake manual handling and physically active duties.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and manage waste and recycling materials across the development, ensuring correct segregation and disposal of all waste streams.
  • Maintain waste compounds, recycling areas and service yards to a safe, clean and organised standard.
  • Operate waste handling equipment, compactors and baling equipment safely and in accordance with site procedures.
  • Support retailers and occupiers with waste disposal processes, promoting compliance with site standards and recycling initiatives.
  • Monitor waste storage areas, responding to operational issues and reporting contamination, capacity concerns or misuse.

Anchor Group Services is recruitingWaste Operatives for The Elephant, a landmark mixed-use development at theheart of Elephant & Castle. Bringing together retail, residential andpublic spaces, The Elephant is set to become a vibrant destination whereresidents, visitors, retailers and communities come together.

This is a unique opportunity to join aflagship London mobilisation from day one, helping to establish standards,culture and service excellence across a brand-new development. As a WasteOperative, you will play a key role in supporting the safe, efficient andenvironmentally responsible management of waste and recycling across thedevelopment, helping to maintain a clean, organised and welcoming environmentfor everyone who visits, lives or works at The Elephant.

About the Role

As a Waste Operative, you'll play a key role insupporting the day-to-day waste and recycling operations across this excitingnew destination. Working closely with retailers, contractors and site teams,you'll ensure waste is collected, segregated and managed efficiently whilehelping to maintain clean, safe and organised service areas throughout thedevelopment.

You'll be a proud ambassador for both Anchor GroupServices and The Elephant, demonstrating professionalism, reliability andexcellent customer service at all times.

Duties Include:

  • Collect and manage waste and recycling materialsacross the development, ensuring correct segregation and disposal of all wastestreams.
  • Maintain waste compounds, recycling areas andservice yards to a safe, clean and organised standard.
  • Operate waste handling equipment, compactors andbaling equipment safely and in accordance with site procedures.
  • Support retailers and occupiers with wastedisposal processes, promoting compliance with site standards and recyclinginitiatives.
  • Monitor waste storage areas, responding tooperational issues and reporting contamination, capacity concerns or misuse.
  • Conduct regular inspections of waste areas,identifying and reporting hazards, defects and maintenance concerns.
  • Support delivery, logistics and day-to-day siteoperations, working closely with Cleaning, Security and Maintenance teams.
  • Ensure all duties are completed in accordance withHealth & Safety and environmental procedures whilst delivering aprofessional service.
  • Carryout any other reasonable duties as requested by Supervisors or Site Management
Requirements
  • Previous experience within waste management,facilities, cleaning or operational environments.
