A local borough council is seeking a Waste Management Operative to collect food waste and other refuse. This full-time, permanent position offers a salary range of £25,185 to £26,403 per annum and includes benefits such as flexible working options and a generous pension scheme. Waste Management Operative - Loader
Grade 3, £25,185 up to £26,403 per annum pro rata
37 hours per week, full time, permanent contract with potential opportunity to complete HGV Driver Training
We are currently recruiting Waste Management Operatives ahead of the implementation of a new Food Waste service commencing February next year. Your role will include working as part of a small team collecting food waste in our new Food Waste Collection vehicles primarily, but you may also collect other waste streams (Refuse, Dry Recycling or Garden waste) as part of the wider waste management services we provide. In addition, you will be involved in the initial distribution of food waste containers to residents prior to food waste collections commencing.
If you currently have a category B licence you are eligible to apply to train for a category C licence. The training is fully funded and we actively support staff to complete this training. Once qualified, we provide further training from our experienced drivers.
