37 hours per week, full time, permanent contract with potential opportunity to complete HGV Driver Training

Role Overview

We are currently recruiting Waste Management Operatives ahead of the implementation of a new Food Waste service commencing February next year. Your role will include working as part of a small team collecting food waste in our new Food Waste Collection vehicles primarily, but you may also collect other waste streams (Refuse, Dry Recycling or Garden waste) as part of the wider waste management services we provide. In addition, you will be involved in the initial distribution of food waste containers to residents prior to food waste collections commencing.

Responsibilities
  • Collect food waste using new Food Waste Collection vehicles.
  • Collect other waste streams such as Refuse, Dry Recycling, or Garden waste.
  • Distribute food waste containers to residents before the commencement of collections.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service and adhere to council values.
Qualifications
  • Physically fit, able to walk long distances each day.
  • Ability to move wheeled bins, containers, sacks, and other receptacles.
  • Committed to making a difference to priority services of the council.
Additional Opportunities

If you currently have a category B licence you are eligible to apply to train for a category C licence. The training is fully funded and we actively support staff to complete this training. Once qualified, we provide further training from our experienced drivers.
