Job summary

West London Waste Authority is seeking a proactive Supervisor to lead up to 15 staff at our Abbey Road sites, ensuring safety, cost efficiency and excellent customer service. You will deputise for the Site Manager and drive reuse/repair initiatives.

The role demands strong HSE knowledge, project management experience and the ability to manage contractors while maintaining site performance and compliance with SLAs.

Qualifications

• COTC Level 4 or equivalent within six months of starting.
• Experience supervising waste management sites or sections of sites.
• Experience delivering demonstrable improvements at waste sites.
• Significant project management experience with options appraisals and business cases.
• Knowledge of relevant environment, waste, plant and H&S legislation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure work complies with health and safety policies, identifying risks and promoting a safety-first culture.
• Lead risk assessments with Health and Safety team; oversee SOPs, first aid resources and investigations.
• Oversee daily operations at waste transfer and recycling centres within budgets and service agreements.
• Maintain sites and equipment to required standards.
• Supervise contractors and engineers; manage permits and onboarding for staff and visitors.
• Foster customer service excellence; handle escalations and maintain stakeholder relationships.
• Produce weekly KPI and cost reporting; ensure data/reporting compliance.
• Use data-driven decisions to meet KPI/SLA targets.
• Pilot materials repair/reuse initiatives; update risk assessments as needed.
• Maintain and update business continuity plans for sites.
• Lead up to 15 staff; manage performance, scheduling and attendance.
• Oversee H&S training, SOPs and training matrix compliance.
