Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a frontline Waste Operative to collect residual, garden, food waste and recyclables from domestic properties in Northallerton. You will load waste into the vehicle and assist the driver with safe operations.

Early starts, four days per week from 06:00 to 18:00, with an extra £30 for each weekend day. There may be occasional cover of the Richmond area. Health and safety is a priority to protect the crew and the public.

Qualifications

• Collection and emptying of waste receptacles, removing spillages, checking service lists, and reporting any issues outside acceptable presentation.
• Supporting the driver with risk assessments.
• Assisting the driver with safe manoeuvres to protect pedestrians and other road users.
• Ensuring the health and safety of yourself and colleagues by following all safe working practices.
• You will also receive training in cleansing duties to support operational needs.
• Working Pattern – 4 days per week, between 06:00 and 18:00. An additional £30 payment is made for each weekend day worked.
• Occasional cover of the Richmond area may be required.
