Mole Valley Farmers in Thirsk is seeking a practical Warehouse / Yard Assistant to join our team. You will help manage stock, support operational standards, and ensure customers receive excellent service in a busy outdoor environment.

The role involves working on a rota, 40 hours per week, with a temporary contract and a competitive hourly rate. Training and development opportunities are available within a supportive, customer-focused team.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering practical, hands-on customer service in a retail setting.
• Experience in manual handling and safe lifting practices.
• Experience in an agricultural or feedstore environment preferred.
• Forklift Truck licence is desirable.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work under pressure.

About The Role

Contract: Temporary

Hours: Full-time

Hours of Work: 40 Hours per week, working on a rota basis

As Warehouse / Yard Assistant, you’ll play a key role in managing stock, supporting operational standards, and ensuring customers receive excellent service. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a clean, safe environment and make sure every interaction reflects our values: customer first, innovative, knowledgeable, honest, committed, and courageous.

Key responsibilities include

• Assisting with goods inwards, stock rotation, and accurate processing of deliveries
• Maintaining integrity of stock records and ensuring correct selling of items
• Keeping feedstore and yard areas organised and compliant with company standards
• Delivering friendly, solution-focused service to all customers
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety policies and company procedures

About You

• Experience providing excellent customer service in a practical, hands-on retail setting
• Experience in manual handling and safe lifting practices
• Experience working in an agricultural or feedstore environment
• Forklift Truck licence (desirable)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work under pressure
• Friendly, enthusiastic, and flexible team player committed to success
