About The Role

The Warehouse Team Leader will be responsible for managing a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring operational targets are met while maintaining safety, accuracy, and efficiency standards. The ideal candidate will have warehouse operations experience, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

About You

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and lead warehouse staff, fostering a positive environment.
  2. Operational Management: Oversee daily warehouse activities such as receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatching.
  3. Performance Monitoring: Track team performance against KPIs, provide feedback, and resolve issues.
  4. Inventory Control: Manage stock levels, conduct stock counts, and handle products properly.
  5. Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations; conduct safety audits.
  6. Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiency improvements.
  7. Resource Planning: Assist with staffing, shift planning, and workload distribution.
  8. Training and Development: Support team skill development through ongoing training.
  9. Quality Control: Ensure order accuracy and quality standards.
  10. Communication: Liaise with other departments for smooth operations.
  11. Problem-Solving: Address operational issues promptly.
  12. Reporting: Prepare and present performance reports to management.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in warehouse team leadership or supervision.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems and MS Office.
  • Forklift license and manual handling experience are advantageous.

Education and Qualifications:

  • GCSEs or equivalent preferred; relevant experience considered.
  • Health and Safety certifications (IOSH, NEBOSH) desirable.
