Job summary

Sherwin-Williams Bolton is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader to coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, order picking, packing and dispatch.

You will drive safety, accuracy and productivity while leading a team, managing resources and maintaining high customer service standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience and / or qualifications.
  • Educated to Secondary or High School standard, passing the appropriate exams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, coaching and negotiating skills.
  • A proven track record in managing change within a diverse environment.
  • An articulate communicator both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively build and manage relationships.
  • Has enthusiasm and patience to develop others.
  • Values strong teamwork.
  • Numerically astute with the ability to analyse data and drive the appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily warehouse activities for receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
  • Enforce safe systems of work and health & safety performance.
  • Provide PPE and ensure safe working environment.
  • Inform, instruct, train and supervise staff.
  • Ensure records and counts are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Allocate resources to meet operational demand.
  • Monitor efficiency and accuracy of processes.
  • Cover for other Team Leaders as needed.
  • Suggest improvements to plant, equipment and practices and communicate them to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for coordinating daily warehouse activities to ensure efficient receiving, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatch operations. The role ensures team performance, supports a safe working environment, and maintains high standards of accuracy, productivity, and customer service.

Responsibilities
  • The enforcement of safe systems of work and holding those below them in the management structure accountable for their health and safety performance.
  • The provision of safe equipment, safe working environment and ensuring all employees/contractors are provided with and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure employees are adequately informed, instructed, trained and supervised to safely carry out work for which they are engaged.
  • Ensure a safe working environment, striving for zero recordable injuries in compliance with internal policies and external legislation, through the delivery of key enabling activities (e.g. Near Misses, Safety Observations, timely completion of actions). Ensure that safety and environmental incidents are fully investigated and the appropriate countermeasures established.
  • Manages the Warehouse employees involved in the shipping, receiving, inventory, distribution and/or trafficking of materials.
  • Ensures resources and personnel are available and allocated to meet operational demand.
  • Monitors operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork and/or enters data regarding incoming materials, work-in-progress, outgoing orders, and other operations to ensure records and counts are accurate.
  • Operating standards must be monitored and any necessary changes initiated.
  • Team members are sufficiently empowered to take appropriate responsibility.
  • Cover is provided in the absence of other Team Leaders.
  • Recommendations to plant, equipment and working practices are developed and effectively communicated to management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

    • Previous supervisory experience and / or qualifications
