Job summary

METLEN Energy & Metals in the UK is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join the Thermal Power & HVDC Division at the Murton site, County Durham. You will oversee receipt, storage and issue of construction materials and equipment, ensuring compliance with project specs.

You will lead site warehouse teams, prepare lift plans and RAMS, maintain inventory, and coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, Construction, QA/QC, and Project Controls to meet schedules and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or material management.
  • Experience supporting large-scale EPC, industrial or construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Proven knowledge of inventory control and material traceability.
  • ERP/WMS experience; SAP experience is an advantage.

  • Lead warehouse personnel to ensure safety and efficiency.

Job Description Warehouse Supervisor 21/08/2026 Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join our UK team within the Thermal Power & HVDC Division of Metlen Energy & Metals, based at our Murton, County Durham project site.

What your role will encompass:
  • Supervise the day-to-day warehouse operations, including the receipt, storage, handling, preservation, and issuance of construction materials, equipment, and consumables.
  • Responsible for receiving and inspecting all goods, materials, and equipment to ensure they comply with purchase orders, delivery notes, and project specifications. This includes verifying the correct quantities have been delivered, conducting thorough quality inspections to identify any damage, defects, or non-conformances, and ensuring materials meet the required standards before acceptance.
  • Lead and coordinate warehouse personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and timely material handling activities.
  • To ensure all activities are planned correctly with the timely submission of lift plans and RAMS.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure all material movements are correctly recorded within warehouse management systems.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure full material traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Attend the site daily coordination meetings, support the Construction management team in the coordination and tracking of subcontractor delivers and forecasted delivers.
  • Coordinate incoming deliveries and outgoing material requests to support construction schedules and site requirements.
  • Ensure materials are correctly labelled, stored, preserved, and segregated in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and project procedures.
  • Liaise closely with Procurement, Logistics, Construction, QA/QC, and Project Controls teams regarding material availability, shortages, and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, warehouse safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Monitor warehouse equipment and storage facilities, ensuring they remain safe, organised, and fit for purpose.
  • Support internal and external audits, inspections, and reporting activities related to warehouse operations and inventory management.
  • Prepare regular warehouse reports, inventory summaries, and KPI updates for Project Management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, material flow, and operational efficiency throughout the project.
What you bring to the role:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or material management.
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale EPC, industrial, energy, thermal power, HVDC, infrastructure, or construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, material traceability, and warehouse management best practices.
  • Experience working with ERP or warehouse management systems (SAP experience is considered an advantage).
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced site environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to supervise teams and collaborate effectively across project functions.
  • Good knowledge of warehouse HSE requirements and safe material handling practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
