About the Role
You will support the Warehouse Manager and oversee daily warehouse operations. Your responsibilities include ensuring accurate, efficient, and safe receipt, handling, storage, and dispatch of stock. You will supervise warehouse staff, drive performance, and maintain high operational standards by acting as a subject matter expert in warehouse systems and best practices.
What You’ll Do:
- Team Leadership: Supervise operatives, allocate tasks, support recruitment, onboarding, and reviews.
- Goods In & Dispatch: Oversee receipt, checking, packing, labelling, and timely dispatch of goods.
- Stock Control: Maintain accurate stock levels, manage returns, and conduct regular audits.
- Training & Performance: Coach team members, ensure procedural compliance, and promote continuous improvement.
- Warehouse Layout & Safety: Optimize space, enforce health and safety standards, and maintain a clean, compliant environment.
- Collaboration & Issue Resolution: Coordinate with other departments and act as the first point of contact for warehouse issues.
- Reporting & Improvements: Monitor KPIs, support system/process upgrades, and ensure accurate documentation.
What You’ll Bring:
- Supervisory Experience: Experience leading teams in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Operational Knowledge: Strong understanding of inventory management, space optimization, and stock control.
- Leadership & Communication: Ability to motivate teams and communicate clearly and confidently.
- Calm & Organised: Ability to handle pressure and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Hands-On & Practical: Proactive problem-solver with a positive, solution-focused approach.
- Systems & Compliance: Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and committed to health and safety standards.
