Job summary

Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is recruiting a Warehouse Shift Supervisor for its Minworth site. The role supports the Shift Manager to run the warehouse, ensuring service targets and costs are met, safety standards maintained, and housekeeping is of a high standard.

The position offers a £40,000 annual salary with 4 on 4 off nights, 18:00–06:00, and a permanent full-time contract. Benefits and a collaborative, values-driven culture are highlighted within the organisation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of SAP, PKMS, Road Runner is desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of WMS Autostore would be useful.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Shift Manager in coordinating warehouse activities.
• Conduct effective accident/incident investigations.
• Schedule and supervise warehouse staff activities.
• Ensure timely completion of warehouse tasks.
• Communicate plans with Operations Controllers to satisfy customers.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies.
• Maintain records of team performance and flag disruption factors.
• Organise training and development for staff and provide coaching.
• Give regular feedback on performance and development.
• Manage attendance and cover to maintain operations.
• Participate in management team and suggest improvements for efficiency and customer focus.

Our friendly team in Minworth have an exciting opportunity for aWarehouse Shift Supervisor to join their team on a full time permanent basis.

As a Shift Supervisor you will support the Shift Managers in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all service and cost targets are met or exceeded, that all Health & Safety requirements are met and that the highest standards of housekeeping are maintained.

Salary:£40,000 per Annum

Working hours:4 on 4 off Nights18:00 - 06:00

Key Duties of a Shift Supervisor:

• Assist the Shift Manager in co-ordinating any issues within the warehouse.
• Effective accident/incident investigations knowledge
• Scheduling and supervising the activities and the functions of the warehouse staff.
• Ensuring the proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities.
• Communicate plans with the Operations Controllers to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety policy and procedures.
• Keep and maintain records of team performance against plans and to advise the Shift Manager of factors that may disrupt operations which cannot be resolved by the team.
• Assist in the organisation of training and development for warehouse staff, including on-the-job coaching, and to evaluate training effectiveness in terms of improved individual and team performance and the maximum flexibility of team members.
• To offer regular feedback, formal and informal, on team and individual performance, including behavioural issues and highlighting good performance and areas for further development.
• Assist the Shift Manager in controlling levels of planned and unplanned absence and take appropriateaction to ensure cover, as necessary, and manage reductions of unacceptable levels.
• Participate as an active member of the management team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus and team working.

• Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be a team player who is capable of working on their own initiative.
• Able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• PC Literate in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to efficiently lead a team, delegate, supervise functions and keep staff motivated.
• Excellent time management skills and problem solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, conciliation skills and the capacity to network with suppliers and customers.
• Working knowledge of SAP, PKMS, Road Runner would be useful but not essential.
• Knowledge of the WMS Autostore would be useful but not essential
