Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is looking for a Warehouse Shift Supervisor in Chorley to support day-to-day warehouse operations. You will help the Shift Manager ensure service and cost targets are met, safety standards are followed, and housekeeping is maintained.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm with flexibility for rotation coverage. Salary is £30,000 per annum, with opportunities to contribute to a proactive team culture and continuous improvement.

Qualificações

• PC literate in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to lead a team, delegate, supervise and motivate staff.
• Strong time management and problem solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with suppliers and customers.
• Familiarity with SAP, PKMS, Road Runner is useful but not essential.
• Knowledge of WMS Autostore would be useful but not essential.

Responsabilidades

• Schedule and supervise warehouse staff activities and functions.
• Ensure timely completion of all warehouse tasks.
• Communicate plans with Operations Controllers to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain records of team performance and flag disruption factors.
• Assist in training and developing warehouse staff, including coaching.
• Provide regular feedback on performance and development.
• Support the Shift Manager in managing absences and cover as needed.
• Participate as a member of the management team and contribute to problem solving and efficiency improvements.

Job Description

Our friendly team in Chorley have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Shift Supervisor to join their team on a full time permanent basis.

As a Shift Supervisor you will support the Shift Managers in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all service and cost targets are met or exceeded, that all Health & Safety requirements are met and that the highest standards of housekeeping are maintained.

Salary: £30,000 per annum.

Working hours:

Monday-Friday, 8am to 4pm with flexibility to cover rotation when required.

Key Duties of a Shift Supervisor:

• Assist the Shift Manager in co-ordinating any issues within the warehouse.
• Effective accident/incident investigations knowledge
• Scheduling and supervising the activities and the functions of the warehouse staff.
• Ensuring the proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities.
• Communicate plans with the Operations Controllers to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety policy and procedures.
• Keep and maintain records of team performance against plans and to advise the Shift Manager of factors that may disrupt operations which cannot be resolved by the team.
• Assist in the organisation of training and development for warehouse staff, including on-the-job coaching, and to evaluate training effectiveness in terms of improved individual and team performance and the maximum flexibility of team members.
• To offer regular feedback, formal and informal, on team and individual performance, including behavioural issues and highlighting good performance and areas for further development.
• Assist the Shift Manager in controlling levels of planned and unplanned absence and take appropriate action to ensure cover, as necessary, and manage reductions of unacceptable levels.
• Participate as an active member of the management team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus and team working.

Qualifications

• Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be a team player who is capable of working on their own initiative.
• Able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• PC Literate in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to efficiently lead a team, delegate, supervise functions and keep staff motivated.
• Excellent time management skills and problem solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, conciliation skills and the capacity to network with suppliers and customers.
• Working knowledge of SAP, PKMS, Road Runner would be useful but not essential.
• Knowledge of the WMS Autostore would be useful but not essential.
