Are you an experienced Warehouse Shift manager who doesn’t mind rolling your sleeves up and being hands on? As our business continually growing, we are looking to reinforce our formidable warehouse management team who are responsible for making sure the heart of our business keeps beating.

Reporting to the Senior Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of one of our busy Warehouse Departments, leading a shift team of around 20 skilled operatives—expanding to as many as 50 during peak periods. You will ensure that all daily tasks are completed to keep the warehouse running smoothly, meeting both business and customer needs, while upholding the highest standards of staff welfare and safety. You'll be making sure that all warehouse policies, health and safety procedures and protocols are followed by yours and the wider team.

We will be looking for the successful candidate to not just maintain current standards but develop the team and the service they deliver as the company continues to grow.

Who you are

You will be happy to lead by example, encouraging a strong team orientated work ethic in everything you do. You will be comfortable managing the day to day, meeting tight deadlines and making decisions that have the customers' needs at the heart of what we do. You will support and develop all team members and new starters and be the first point of call on the warehouse floor. Delivering a proactive and preventative approach to Health & Safety, and ensuring legal compliance and safe working practices at all times

You will be a strong presence throughout the Warehouse Service operation, making decisions, problem-solving and balancing priorities whilst always acting with integrity and due diligence.

What we are looking for

  • Previous people management experience within a Warehouse environment, including developing teams of people and training others on operating procedures
  • Good communications skills
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills, including the ability to analyse data
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Computer literate
  • HSE Knowledge - Risk Assessments/HACCP/COSHH/SOP’s
  • Experience of managing staff rotas
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Focused and methodical approach to tasks, with good attention to detail
  • Personable, self-motivated and with the ability to work to deadlines
  • The ability to think out of the box in pressurised scenarios
  • A ‘can do’ attitude and approach to daily tasks, willing to pitch in and support your team to get the job done

Useful but not essential

  • Fork Truck experience, but not essential
  • Goods In Experience would be useful
  • Previous Experience in eCommerce

Things to consider.

We are a busy 7-day a week operation working from 06:00 to 23:00 Monday to Friday and currently a weekend day shift. This is a weekly rotating shift role and requires the flexibility to work the following hours/dates:

Early Shift: 06:00 – 14:30 Monday to Friday + Saturday 08:30 – 17:00 (you will be required to work a total of 5 out of the 7 days)

Late Shift: 14:30 – 23:00 Monday to Friday + Sunday 08:30 – 17:00 (you will be required to work a total of 5 out of the 7 days)

During our peak times throughout October, November and December there may be a requirement to work additional hours which is paid as overtime
