Our client is currently recruiting for a Warehouse Shift Manager on a permanent basis. The shift pattern is Sunday to Thursday 5.30pm to 2.00am.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire shift, managing daily operations to ensure efficient order picking and workflow.
- Lead, motivate, and coach a team of Warehouse Operatives to meet performance targets and maintain high morale.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and adjust resources to ensure operational goals are met.
- Conduct team briefings to communicate objectives, updates, and feedback.
- Enforce and promote a safe working environment, conducting regular safety checks and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and ensure all picked orders meet quality standards and customer requirements.
- Carry out random quality checks and address discrepancies promptly.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for your team and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews, identifying training and development opportunities for team members.
- Collaborate with other shift managers to share best practices and ensure smooth handovers.
- Act as a key holder, participating in an on-call rota to handle any out-of-hours security issues or breaches.
Skills & Experience
- Essential: A minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership role.
- FLT licences (counterbalance, reach) - desirable.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, particularly order picking processes.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and engage your team.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and relevant IT software.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- A proactive and responsive management style with a hands-on approach when necessary
