Job summary

Pertemps is seeking experienced Warehouse Pickers for a leading logistics operation in Burton upon Trent. This full-time, seasonal Christmas contract offers up to 50 hours per week and 33 days of annual leave, with potential extension into 2027.

You will handle stock weighing 5–25 kg, perform manual handling, and pick orders using a handheld scanner. There is real potential for ongoing work beyond the New Year.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience in logistics / warehousing as an operative.
• Ability to successfully pass through a drug & alcohol assessment on commencement of your role.
• Hard-working attitude, capable of extended manual lifting duties.
• Comfortable with committing to extended shifts as required (2.5 hours extra per day).

Responsibilities

• Picking products with use of handheld RDT scanner.
• Manually palletising stock.
• Supporting with container handball when required.
• Training on PPT and other MHE where required.
• General housekeeping of the warehouse / yard area.

Job description

As a Warehouse Picker based in Burton upon Trent, you will join a leading logistics operation on a full-time, flexible basis. This long-term temporary role offers up to 50 hours weekly, with pay between £13.40 and £15.12 per hour. You will handle stock weighing 5kg to 25kg, so physical fitness and comfort with manual handling are essential. Reliable individuals demonstrating strong attitudes during this seasonal Christmas period may secure ongoing contracts extending into 2027. The position includes 33 days of annual leave. You will be responsible for accurate order selection and movement of goods by hand, ensuring operational flow.

We are seeking experienced Warehouse Pickers for a leading logistics firm based in Burton, easily accessible from South Derby, Stretton, Horninglow and Stapenhill. This is a seasonal Christmas contract, with a good potential for more ongoing work opportunity beyond the new year into 2027. Long term contracts will be reserved for those who demonstrate the right attitudes, behaviours and reliability throughout the next 3 months.

Due to the nature of the stock being handled, it is vitally important that all applicants are physically comfortable with manual handling throughout the course of your shift. Product weight will vary between 5kg-25kg, but the requirement to move stock by hand will be in place every day.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months experience in logistics / warehousing as an operative
• Ability to successfully pass through a drug & alcohol assessment on commencement of your role
• A hard-working attitude, happy to keep up with manual lifting duties
• FLT licence would be advantageous, but not essential
• Comfortable with committing to extended shifts as & when required (2.5 hours extra per day)

Hours of work available

• Monday to Friday 1400-2200 (paying between £13.40-£14.21 per hour TBC)
• Sunday to Thursday 2200-0600 (paying between £13.90 -£15.12 per hour TBC)
• Monday to Friday 2200-0600 (paying between £13.90 -£15.12 per hour TBC)
