Gates is recruiting a Warehouse Operator for our Dumfries facility. This full-time role involves efficient storage, handling and distribution of products, with training provided across warehouse functions. A £850 hiring bonus may apply based on criteria.

You will pick, pack, stock, and ship orders, operate equipment, and help maintain safety, quality and productivity on shift. Join a team focused on reliability and continuous improvement in a busy warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, factory, or shift-based environment is desirable.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good manual handling, numeracy, and organisational skills.
• Forklift licences (counterbalance, reach, picker, or EPL) training provided.

Responsabilités

• Pick, pack, and prepare orders according to customer specifications.
• Replenish stock from production and other plants as required.
• Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Book in raw materials and purchase orders; distribute materials to departments as required.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as counterbalance and reach trucks, order pickers, and electric pallet lifters (training provided).
• Maintain high standards of quality, productivity, attendance, adaptability, teamwork, and discipline.
• Ensure a safe and healthy working environment by following all Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
• Report any unsafe practices, equipment issues, or near-miss incidents.
• Maintain good housekeeping—keeping work areas clean, organised, and clear at the end of each shift.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement by submitting safety or efficiency suggestions.
