Job summary

DHL Supply Chain runs warehouse operations inside prisons, picking, packing and distributing orders within the prison to support the canteen service. This role is based inside HM Highpoint Prison Suffolk and requires enhanced security vetting.

The role involves leading teams, working with offenders, and maintaining stock accuracy in a fast-paced environment. A UK driving licence and own vehicle are needed. Induction and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have 3 years UK address history.
• Must hold UK licence and own vehicle.
• Able to communicate clearly and handle people in challenging situations.
• Willing to work inside a prison environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work with offenders in a warehouse.
• Hands-on picking, packing and manual handling (up to 20kg).
• Keep stock accuracy and ensure smooth operation.
• Work as a team to meet targets.

Pay Rate: £27,510.32

Contract Type: Permanent

Shift patterns: Monday to Friday, 0800-1600

PLEASE NOTE: This role is based inside a prison and involves working alongside serving offenders. You will be required to pass enhanced security vetting as part of the recruitment process.

This isn't a standard warehouse role. At DHL Supply Chain, we run warehouse operations inside prisons supporting the HMPPS Canteen Service. This service allows offenders to use their own money to buy approved items such as food, toiletries and everyday essentials — with our teams responsible for picking, packing and distributing these orders within the prison.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Work inside a prison, leading and working alongside offenders in a warehouse
• Hands on role - picking, packing and manual handling (up to 20kg)
• Keep stock accurate and the operation running smoothly
• Work at pace when needed and stay organised
• Working as a team to make sure targets are met

• Able to communicate clearly and deal with people, including in challenging situations
• Comfortable working inside a prison, alongside offenders
• Have 3 years UK address history (required for security clearance)

• Must Hold a UK licence and have there own vehicle
