Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is seeking a Warehouse Operative (Nights) to join the night shift on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The role covers order picking, AutoStore, goods inwards and stock put-away, with a focus on accuracy and safety.

The successful candidate will operate MHE including reach trucks and order pickers, and work Mon-Thu 4pm-2:30am at £14.95 per hour. A flexible, reliable team player committed to quality is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Current MHE licenses or recognised training certification for Reach Truck and/or Order Picker.
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced operation.
• Flexible approach and willingness to work across multiple warehouse functions.

Responsibilities

• Pick customer orders accurately and efficiently from warehouse storage locations.
• Operate MHE, including Order Pickers and Reach Trucks, in line with site procedures.
• Pick orders through the AutoStore automated storage and retrieval system.
• Support Goods Inwards activities, including receiving, checking and processing incoming stock.
• Put stock away safely and accurately using the appropriate MHE.
• Ensure products are handled correctly and stored in the correct warehouse locations.
• Complete equipment safety checks and report defects or hazards promptly.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all areas.
• Work flexibly across warehouse functions to support nightly workload.

Job Title: Warehouse Operative (Nights)

Working Patters: Monday to Thursday, 4 x 10-hour night shifts, 4pm - 2.30am

Contracted Hours: Monday - Thursday, 4pm - 2:30am (4 shifts - 10-hour each)

Salary: £14.95 per hour

Contract: Temp to Perm

Primary focus: Order picking, AutoStore, MHE operation and Goods Inwards

Overview:

We are looking for a reliable, flexible and safety-conscious Warehouse Operative to join our Night Shift team. This is a varied, multi-skilled role supporting the full warehouse operation, including order picking, AutoStore, stock receipt and stock put-away.

The successful candidate will work across different areas of the warehouse to help ensure customer orders are picked accurately, incoming stock is processed efficiently, and all work is completed safely and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pick customer orders accurately and efficiently from warehouse storage locations.
• Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including Order Pickers and Reach Trucks, in line with site procedures and authorisation requirements.
• Pick orders through the AutoStore automated storage and retrieval system.
• Support Goods Inwards activities, including receiving, checking and processing incoming stock.
• Put stock away safely and accurately using the appropriate MHE.
• Ensure products are handled correctly and stored in the correct warehouse locations.
• Complete equipment safety checks and report defects, hazards, near misses or operational issues promptly.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all working areas.
• Work flexibly across warehouse functions to support nightly workload and business priorities.
• Follow all site procedures, safe systems of work and quality requirements.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Current MHE licenses or recognised training certification for Reach Truck and/or Order Picker.
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced operation.
• Good attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
• Flexible approach and willingness to work across multiple warehouse functions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Clear commitment to safe working practices.
• Previous experience operating a Reach Truck and/or Order Picker.
• Reach License

Desirables:

• Experience using AutoStore or another warehouse automation system.
• Experience within Goods Inwards, stock put-away or inventory operations.
