First Call Contract Services Limited is seeking a reliable Warehouse Operative / Driver for its Fulbourn site. You will perform warehouse duties and drive a 3.5‑tonne vehicle for multi‑drop deliveries across the UK, with up to 15 drops per shift.

The role includes quality checks, stock handling, and on‑time deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a full UK driving licence with at least 3 years’ experience, prior 3.5‑tonne vehicle driving, and good geographical knowledge.

Warehouse Operative / Driver

Location: Fulbourn, Cambridge
Salary: £14.93 per hour
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, night shifts (42 hours per week), with a 30-minute unpaid break
Job Type: Full-time – Temp to Perm

My client is a global leader in glass manufacturing, supplying products to the architectural, automotive and creative technology industries. They are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative / Driver to join their team at their site in Fulbourn, Cambridge.

This is a varied hands‑on role involving warehouse duties and driving responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for picking customer orders, loading vehicles and completing multi‑drop deliveries of automotive glass to customers and other sites across the UK. Deliveries can involve up to 15 drops per shift so previous experience driving a 3.5‑tonne vehicle and confidence navigating different routes are essential.

Alongside the driving duties, you will also be responsible for carrying out quality checks on automotive glass, completing minor polishing work where required, putting stock away and assisting with stock takes. You will also help ensure the warehouse remains clean, tidy and safe at all times.

The ideal candidate will be reliable, practical and confident working both independently and as part of a team. You will need to have good attention to detail, a positive attitude and take pride in ensuring deliveries are completed safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently

• Load vehicles safely and securely in preparation for deliveries

• Complete multi‑drop deliveries of automotive glass to customers and other sites across the UK

• Carry out up to 15 delivery drops per shift

• Drive a 3.5‑tonne vehicle safely and responsibly

• Carry out quality checks on automotive glass to ensure products meet the required standards

• Complete minor polishing work on glass where required

• Put stock away and ensure warehouse locations are maintained correctly

• Assist with regular stock takes and stock checks

• Ensure all products are handled carefully to prevent damage

• Complete relevant delivery paperwork and follow company procedures

• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised warehouse environment

• Follow all health and safety procedures at all times

• Work effectively as part of the warehouse team while being confident working independently when required

• Carry out any other reasonable duties required by management

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Full UK driving licence with at least 3 year’s driving experience is essential

• Previous experience driving a 3.5‑tonne vehicle is essential

• Experience driving vehicles such as a Mercedes Sprinter or Ford Transit is highly desirable

• Good geographical knowledge and confidence completing multi‑drop deliveries

• Previous warehouse or distribution experience would be advantageous

• Good attention to detail when picking orders and handling stock

• Ability to carry out quality checks and identify any damaged or defective products

• Good understanding of health and safety procedures

• Able to follow instructions and established working procedures

• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

• A practical and hands‑on approach to work

• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

• A positive attitude and willingness to get involved with all aspects of the role

• A valid FLT licence would be advantageous

• Knowledge or experience within the automotive industry would be beneficial
