Job summary

Zero Surplus is hiring a Warehouse Operative on a 3-month, immediate-start contract at their new Luton facility. You will support order fulfilment, prepare pick/pack sheets, label shipments, and assist with stock handling.

The role requires accuracy, a calm disposition under pressure, and clear communication within the team. Responsibilities include receiving deliveries, storing items correctly, keeping the warehouse tidy, and performing quality checks on finished products.

Qualifications

• Experience with order fulfilment, warehouse or dispatch.
• A good eye for detail and are inherently organised.
• The ability to stay calm under pressure and enjoy juggling multiple tasks.
• A friendly, professional communication (both verbally and in writing).

Responsibilities

• Preparing pick and pack sheets for daily order fulfilment.
• Picking items from stock and packing them ready for despatch.
• Printing shipping labels with our postal providers.
• Manually receiving deliveries and ensuring correct quantities delivered.
• Ensuring received items are put away in correct locations.
• Maintaining a clean warehouse and disposing of waste correctly.
• Creating and measuring product quantities for containers and packaging.
• Quality control checks on finished products and packaging.

Warehouse Operative - Immediate Start - 3 Months (possible Contract to Perm)
Mon - Fri (37.5 hours)

We're delighted to be working on a retained basis with a fast-growing ecommerce business that has more than doubled its sales in the last 2 years!

They have beautifully crafted products, manufactured on site, and the company ethos is that of creativity, support and growth (to each other and to their customers/community).

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be working as part of a team keeping the orders flowing out to customers and operating the counter-balance forklift. They have recently moved to new premises and are entering an exciting phase of growth, so looking for a dynamic, multi-talented person to work across the breadth of the business.

Some of what you'll be doing will include:

• Preparing pick and pack sheets for daily order fulfilment
• Picking items from stock and packing them ready for despatch
• Printing shipping labels with our postal providers.

Warehouse Duties

• Manually receiving deliveries and ensuring correct quantities have been delivered
• Ensuring received items are put away in correct locations
• Ensuring Warehouse is kept clean and tidy, ensuring all waste is disposed of correctly

Product Finishing

• Creating and measuring the correct amount of product into relevant containers
• Packing completed products into relevant boxes for storage and use in dispatch
• Quality control checks on finished products and packaging
