Job summary

Boots UK distribution operation in Bradford is seeking a Warehouse Operative with occasional 3.5T van driving. You will load, unload, sort and stack stock for store delivery across Yorkshire, Manchester and Hull, plus manage Click & Collect parcels.

A hands-on, warehouse-based role with no direct customer contact. Shifts include days 6am-2pm (£12.91ph) and nights 10pm-6am (£14.82ph), minimum of three shifts weekly.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Load and unload stock across 9 bays.

• Use manual pallet trucks safely.
• Check stock codes and quantities for accuracy.
• Move stock to dispatch areas and report damaged stock.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized and safe.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and meet productivity targets.

Job description

This position combines warehouse duties with 3.5T van driving for a major Boots UK distribution operation in Bradford.

You will load, unload, sort, and stack retail stock for delivery to stores across Yorkshire, Manchester, and Hull, plus prepare Click & Collect parcels for routing to collection points.

This is a hands-on, warehouse-based role without direct customer contact.

Working patterns include days (6am-2pm) at £12.91 per hour or nights at £14.82, with a minimum of three shifts weekly.

This full-time role is temporary initially, with permanent prospects after a paid induction starting 30th September and staggered training days.

Driver/Warehouse Operative – Temp to Perm

Paid induction from 30th September, with staggered taster/training days (Paid) leading to a full start from the end of October.

We're recruiting Warehouse Operatives for a major distribution operation supporting Boots UK.

Shifts and Pay Rates

• Days: 6am-2pm | £12.91ph
• Nights: 10pm-6am | £14.82ph
• Minimum 3 shifts per week
• Overtime available depending on business requirements, paid after 37.5 hours
• Start plan: paid induction on 30th September, followed by paid taster sessions and training days over the following weeks Full start date expected from the end of October, once workers have completed the introductory training period

What You'll Be Doing

• Loading and unloading stock across 9 bays
• Stacking and sorting retail stock
• Sorting Click & Collect parcels to the correct routes
• Using manual pull pallet trucks
• Checking stock, codes and quantities for accuracy
• Moving stock safely to the correct dispatch areas
• Reporting damaged stock when required
• Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe
• Following all Health & Safety procedures
• Working to productivity and accuracy targets

Driving Opportunities

A full UK driving licence is desirable as there may be occasional opportunities to work as a Driver's Mate or provide driving cover. Driving would be very rare and only as a last resort. The largest vehicle would be a Luton van under 3.5 tonnes, which can be driven on a standard UK licence.
