Job summary

DHL Supply Chain Avonmouth is hiring a Warehouse Operative to receive, store and dispatch customer products accurately and safely. You will support the Team Leader and work as part of a small, close-knit team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

The role includes an on-call rota (1 week in every 5), rotating early/late shifts, and opportunities to develop through training. You must have warehouse experience and be comfortable using WMS, with Reach Truck or Counterbalance licenses preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience required.
• Licence to drive UK and own transport may be advantageous.
• Familiarity with WMS and MS Office is desirable.

Pay Rate: £30,327.44 - £31,727.44 OTE (including basic salary, shift premium and annual call-out payment)
Grade: P
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Location: Avonmouth, BS35 4EL

Shift Pattern

Monday to Friday rotating shifts:

• Week 1: 06:00 - 14:00
• Week 2: 09:00 - 17:00

This role includes participation in an on-call rota (1 week in every 5) to support emergency customer requirements and site operations.

Salary Breakdown

• Basic Salary (37.5 hours): £26,663.05
• Shift Premium: £2,026.39
• Bonus opportunity to earn bonus up to £1,400 per year
• Call-Out Allowance: £157.50 per call-out week
• Overtime paid at 1.5x hourly rate

A Typical Day May Involve

Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and accuracy while supporting warehouse operations, including:

• Picking and packing customer orders in accordance with operational procedures
• Receiving goods into the warehouse, including unloading vehicles and completing associated paperwork
• Loading and unloading products safely and efficiently
• Operating Reach Truck and Counterbalance Forklift Trucks in line with site safety procedures
• Supporting stock accuracy and inventory control activities
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure customer requirements are met
• Participating in the on-call rota and responding to emergency call-outs when required

This Role Would Suit People Who

• Have a positive, flexible and proactive attitude
• Enjoy working as part of a team while being able to work independently
• Have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Have previous warehouse experience, ideally using MHE equipment
• Hold valid Reach Truck and/or Counterbalance licences (preferred)
• Are comfortable using warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office applications
• Hold a full UK driving licence due to the on-call requirements of the role
• Can work safely and effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment
