Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting a Warehouse Operative in Kingsbridge for a temporary assignment. From £14.00 per hour, Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:00pm, with immediate start. You will receive, store, track and ship goods within a distribution centre.

On-site parking and exposure to a large international company are noted advantages. Ideal candidates have warehouse experience, are safety-conscious, and can work well in a team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Warehouse Operative.
• FLT licence preferred but not essential.
• Own transport due to the job location.
• Ability to follow health and safety procedures.
• Good working attitude.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and unloading deliveries; check paperwork and inspect items for damage or missing parts.
• Picking and packing items with correct labels or barcodes.
• Moving stock using hand trucks, pallet jacks or forklifts.
• Inventory control: scan barcodes and record stock levels.
• Loading and dispatch: pack and load orders onto vehicles for delivery.
• Cleaning and safety: keep workspace clean and safe.

As a Warehouse Operative, you will receive, store, track and ship goods inside a distribution centre.

Key Duties

• Receiving and unloading: Unload incoming deliveries from trucks, check paperwork and inspect items for damage or missing parts.
• Picking and packing: Select correct items from shelves, place them into boxes and add labels or barcodes.
• Moving stock: Transport heavy goods and pallets around the facility using hand trucks, pallet jacks or forklifts.
• Inventory control: Scan barcodes, count inventory and record stock levels on a computer or digital system.
• Loading and dispatch: Pack and load finished orders onto vehicles for delivery.
• Cleaning and safety: Sweep floors, tidy workstations and follow safety rules to keep the workspace safe.
