Job summary

Barrett Steel Limited is seeking a Warehouse Operative at our Willenhall site. You will join a skilled team, handling orders, recording stock movements and assisting in production and dispatch. Shifts rotate 6:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00, Monday to Friday, with full training provided.

The role requires safe working practices, a flexible attitude, and a willingness to use mobile equipment such as FLTs and an overhead crane. A valid UK driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a warehouse operative is preferred.
• Commitment to health and safety procedures at all times.
• Flexible, results‑driven and team oriented.
• Experience with mobile equipment such as FLTs and cranes useful.
• Ability to read instructions and accurately record work.
• Must have a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Pick orders and handle heavy/large items safely.
• Record stock movements and usage accurately.
• Transfer stock and operate equipment after training.
• Assist in production and dispatch of customer orders.

Based at our Barrett Engineering Steel Willenhall Site, we are looking for a passionate and committed Warehouse Operative to be part of our skilled and dedicated work force. The working hours are on a rotating shift pattern Monday to Friday 6:00am-2:00pm, then Monday to Friday 2:00 pm to 10:00pm.

Specific Tasks Include

• Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large items
• Accurately record stock movement and usage, along with product identification and use of measuring equipment.
• Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and on your own.
• Transferring stock, operate saws, overhead cranes, fork lifts, side loaders and side trackers after full training
• Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers' orders.
• Maintain high levels of Health and Safety at all times
• Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements
• Any ad hoc duties as required

• You should be used to working safely, adhering to all health and safety procedures

• The ability to read written instructions & record accurately work carried out
