Job summary

Barrett Steel Limited at Willenhall is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our team on rotating early/late shifts, 6:00am-2:00pm and 2:00pm-10:00pm. You will pick orders, record stock movements, and work with lifting equipment after full training.

The role requires reading instructions, maintaining safety standards, and a flexible, team-oriented approach. UK driving licence is preferred and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse operations and fulfillment tasks.
• A strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
• Flexible, team player with ability to work independently.
• Experience operating mobile equipment such as FLT and overhead crane is preferred.
• Ability to read written instructions and accurately record stock movements.
• holders of a full UK driving licence are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling of heavy items.
• Record stock movement and usage, including product identification.
• Work effectively as part of a team and on your own.
• Transfer stock and operate FLT/overhead crane after training.
• Assist in production and dispatch of customer orders.
• Maintain high levels of health and safety at all times.
• Be adaptable to meet operational requirements and complete ad hoc duties.

Job description

Based at our Barrett Engineering Steel Willenhall Site, we are looking for a passionate and committed Warehouse Operative to be part of our skilled and dedicated work force. The working hours are on a rotating shift pattern Monday to Friday 6:00am-2:00pm, then Monday to Friday 2:00 pm to 10:00pm.

Specific tasks include:

• Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large items
• Accurately record stock movement and usage, along with product identification and use of measuring equipment.
• Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and on your own.
• Transferring stock, operate saws, overhead cranes, fork lifts, side loaders and side trackers after full training
• Assisting in the overall production and dispatch of customers’ orders.
• Maintain high levels of Health and Safety at all times
• Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements
• Any ad hoc duties as required
