Job summary

Holdsworth Foods is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join the Despatch team at our Tideswell depot. You will work in a coldstore environment, picking orders and ensuring accurate stock handling to maintain high service levels.

Hours are 6.00pm–2.00am, Sunday to Friday with a day off in the week. Benefits include a pension scheme, death in service, healthcare cash plan and staff discounts.

Responsibilities

• To pick orders from picking sheets with attention to product and quantities.
• To be familiar with and identify the products stocked.
• To know the warehouse setup and correct storage areas for items stocked.
• To face labels outwards for double checking purposes.
• To handle loading/unloading cages with care.
• To use ladders and harnesses when working off ground level.
• To operate pallet trucks/forklifts safely, with valid certification.
• To report any handling equipment faults to the manager.
• Double checkers to verify cages against picking sheets for traceability.
• To load cages onto the correct vehicle, avoiding damage.

We are looking for a Warehouse Operative to work in our Despatch team at our Tideswell depot. Working as a Warehouse Operative, you will be joining a team who ensure that our customers receive the right products and support in the delivery of high levels of customer service.

You must be prepared to work in a Coldstore environment.

The role offers a pension scheme, death in service, cycle to work scheme, healthcare cash plan scheme and staff discount.

The working hours are 6.00pm to 2.00am with a 30 minute unpaid break (37.5 hours per week), Sunday to Friday (with a day off in the week).

Duties includes:

• To pick orders from picking sheets, with attention to product and quantities
• To be familiar with and able to identify the products stocked.
• To have a good working knowledge of the set-up of the warehouse and of the correct storage areas of all the various items stocked.
• To face labels outwards for double checking purposes
• To take care when loading and unloading cages
• To use the ladders and harnesses when working off ground level.
• To use pallet trucks/fork truck in a safe manner, and only if valid certification for the machine is held.
• To report any handling equipment faults immediately to the Department Manager or his/her Deputy.
• Nominated double checkers are to check cages for products and quantities against picking sheets
• Picking sheets must be signed for by the picker, double checker and stacker for traceability
• To load the cages onto the correct vehicle, taking extreme care not to damage any of the goods
• To load dry goods plus meat orders onto the correct vehicles taking care to load in such a way as to avoid any damage, spillage whilst in transport.
• To keep the warehouse clean and tidy at all times.
• To assist with other duties when requested to do so by senior management.
